Edible Weeds at The Secret Garden - Winter Workshop (Unpublished)

Submitted by Member 289 on 29-Jun-2020 There are so many reasons to add wild foods into your diet, ranging from gaining survival knowledge to increasing your health and well-being. Weeds are often thought of as undesirable, but some of them happen to be superfoods, packed with nutrients we all need. What we so often refer to as weeds, can provide us with a whole range of new foods to add to our menus, and for most of us, this free food is growing right outside our backdoor. There are a variety of ‘weeds’ that are so easy to add to your daily diet. By adding a few wild plants to your next meal, you are not only making it taste more interesting, you are also adding a diversity of vitamins and minerals that our bodies need. Learn how to identify the edible weeds in our Community Garden. Find out about their nutrition, medicinal and culinary properties. Receive recipes and sample a taste of our favourites!
